A vital key to success of any services-oriented business is the personal involvement of the principal. In this case, Afra B. Cobb has the unique background necessary for a successful enterprise. Ms. Cobb has been the President of Cobb Professional Services since 2005. Additionally, Ms. Cobb was owner of Excite Staffing Solutions for over a decade and gained a wealth of knowledge in the human resources and employment industry. As a result of the Covid-19 global pandemic, Ms. Cobb decided to combine both companies under one umbrella in order to offer human resources consulting/recruitment management services and commercial insurance consulting. This strategic management style has allowed her to maintain sustainable growth for nearly two decades.
Over the years, Ms. Cobb has been appointed to serve on numerous boards and committees. Much of this is contributed to her dedication and commitment to growing Minority Businesses. The Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce honored Ms. Cobb for her 10-year commitment to community service and financial support as an active Board of Director from January 2005 – January 2015. In 2010 Ms. Cobb became a recipient of the “Quest for Success” Award, sponsored by WFAA-TV Channel 8 in conjunction with J P Morgan Chase and the Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce.
The Quest for Success recognizes the Top-8 African American Entrepreneurs in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex each year. Due to her knowledge of the DART Light Rail System and her commitment to the Central Business District, she was appointed to DART’s D-2 Stakeholder Advisory committee. In addition to the many awards Ms. Cobb has received, she was honored by the Dallas Business Journal as one of the “Top 40 Under 40” in 2014.
